Fluidized Bed Boilers, also known as bubbling bed boilers, utilize a fluidized combustion chamber to burn fuel. This chamber ensures even mixing and complete combustion of the fuel, while maintaining a not-too-high temperature, reducing the emission of harmful gases.

Fluidized bed boilers can burn various fuels from coal, biomass-derived fuel, industrial waste, and sorted domestic waste. Therefore, not only are fluidized bed boilers high-performance, but they are also environmentally friendly with low emissions.

Advantages

  • The fluidized bed boiler has the ability to efficiently burn a wide range of fuels, from fossil fuels, household waste, industrial waste, to biomass. The heat produced is maximally utilized in thermal power production and food processing.
  • In particular, Biomass – fuel derived from plants that is cost-effective but provides energy equivalent to coal, has helped save costs when using the boiler. The fluidized bed boiler is also more intelligently designed with a compact heat transfer system, supporting the combustion of various fuels.
  • The start-up time is quick, and the boiler cleaning requires less effort compared to previous systems. It provides stable steam, maintaining pressure and temperature at standard levels, with a heat source always maintained at about 800 – 900°C.
  • The process of convective heat exchange – where different temperatures or between solids and liquids exchange heat – occurs efficiently.
  • Emissions like NOx, SOx are less than traditional boilers, making the fluidized bed boiler more environmentally friendly. Ash and slag do not easily adhere to equipment, reducing wear and tear.
  • The issue of fuel supply for the boiler has become more convenient and faster, thanks to the conveyor belt and automatic screw conveying system. Notably, the durability and lifespan of the fluidized bed boiler are also very high.
